The Dunajec River Gorge runs through the Pieniny Mountains in the south of Poland and the north of Slovakia (as Dunajec is the border river between the two countries in the area).

The gorge is part of a valley located within the Pieniny National Park. The landscape distinguishes it from surrounding mountains due to interaction of natural factors such as geological ground, relief, water, soil, climate, flora and fauna, and their evolutionary relationships. All these elements contribute to the complexity of the natural beauty of the whole area.

This adventure will allow you to enjoy amazing views of Pieniny National Park, from a wooden raft operated by local Association of Raftsmen.

AVAILABILITY:  Rafting tour is available from April until the end of October. Reservation is required.

TOUR DURATION: 7-8 hours (subject to weather and road conditions)

DEPARTURE TIME: Set between 8am and 9am

DEPARTURE PLACE: We offer a convenient hotel/residence pick-up. Please forward details of your accommodation when making a booking.

WORTH KNOWING:

  • Travel time from Rabka to the starting point of Rafting is approx. 60 minutes
  • The average time of rafting is approximately 2.5 hours (depending on the level of water in the river)
  • The raft is operated by two experienced raftsmen.
  • Please bring clothing suitable for weather conditions. We advise to carry a raincoat, as the weather may change.
